Hold your mind empty and tranquil

In 1979, Agnes Martin painted The Islands, a set of 12 paintings, very very pale.  Each of them 6 feet square.

  1. It has been a quiet joy to visit the Agnes Martin "chapel" at the Harwood Museum in Taos, New Mexico on two occasions ... amazing how art can both fill and empty one's heart and mind ... and how your work is very much in keeping with Agnes Martin's scale and attention to repetitive detail

    1. Hi Liz, you are lucky to have seen Agnes Martin’s work in real life. I have seen her work twice and treasure those times. Once in Toronto at the art gallery of Ontario, and once in New York at the Dia Beacon. What the books told me about how one feels in the presence of her work is true. It gives you a huge space to just stand in and be empty yet very full at the same time. Thanks for your comment x

  2. This part-- the quiet, open space of the mind--is what I am missing in this messy, disrupted life we lead right now.

I hope that we can have a conversation about creation. Thank you for taking interest. x
