poetic resonance

I use cloth and thread to create densely stitched areas based on repetition  of an archetypal shape.

The finished textiles invite us to reach out and stroke
but even if not actually touched,
we know how they feel.

The connection with the body's haptic sense adds poetic resonance to textile art.

  2. I love the word haptic, it is poetic in and of itself!

  3. we take in so much through our hands and our skin - through our sense of touch. haptic is its own intelligence.

    1. I think it also refers to the body's memory of how things feel...from when we were babies. I'd need to check that however.

I hope that we can have a conversation about creation. Thank you for taking interest. x
