Lucia and Mark

Befriend myself.

Loving kindness toward myself.

Knowing myself and liking myself.

Just as I am.

I am the ground.

It feels like

I’m terrified all the time.  All the time.  I just am so afraid.

Murmuration

Continuing to sew the cloud of birds and I think it is getting close to finishing.  Leaving it in a cloud shape rather than squaring it up.  Praising the mutilated world.

today, yesterday, tomorrow

Heard yesterday: how even if you make a mistake, the music keeps on going when you are in an orchestra.  You just have to catch up with the rest and carry on.   (Angela Truscott)

And how this is kind of like Anne Truitt remembered how she stood in her living room and realized the world was going on out there and she was standing there allowing time to move over and around her and she decided to be a sculptor. (Yield)

Five Stars

I finished Intermezzo by Sally Rooney.  It had a good ending.

It is the way it is written, more than any character development or plot that makes the book so interesting.  She treats their inner worlds differently: not complete sentences for Peter so he seems so jumpy and neurotic, while the other brother, Ivan, uses more complete sentences as do two of the women, Sylvia and Margaret.  The reader is very intimately involved.  It’s very present and compelling writing. Five stars
