my wounded softened heart

a feeling of tenderness tinged with some sadness

in the process of finding this, the journey goes down, not up.

moving toward the suffering and doubt...sliding into it...tip toe-ing into it.

exploring the reality of insecurity and pain....trying not to push it away.

moving down and down and down.

with me are millions of others, awakening from fear.

At the bottom is water.

Healing water of bodhichitta,...the love that will not die.

still reading Pema Chodron and am still healing

The decision came to me to put these pieces together - make a second show.
Drop 'close ur eyes' from my David Kaye work - and put it with the canvas Ralli piece and the pinwheel madder square in square luminous path piece.  Also my Amish mirror diamond in square, and the red damsak with burnt holes.

I have so many pieces that are nearly done -

These ones make emotional sense to me as a group.

Maitri means loving kindness (pema)

How To Defeat Fear

Fear says:

"My weapons are that I talk fast and get very close to your face.  This unnerves you and so you do whatever I say.  If you don't do what I tell you, I have no power."

Listen to fear.  Have respect for fear.
Even be convinced by fear.

But don't do what fear says to do.  Fear has no power.

take off your shoes

Wow and yikes
It's so hard to bear when the people you love die
but remember, that person will live fully in your heart

Also, that person will make you laugh out loud sometime
grief and friends
tears will bathe you

The first thing that God said to Moses "take off your shoes"

Death is as sacred as birth

wool textiles carry fertility

they hold metaphor and story telling

wool is a metaphor of spiritual force

symbolic of the benevolence of nature

wool happens because God gives rain

wool is the end result

wool is a life force

wool is an amulet

when wool is in a restless pattern, it confounds and confuses the bad spirits

Being alive

We are all on a journey in our life time
We don't know what will come next
We don't know when we will die - yet we keep on.

My art making is a journey into my self.
Moments of exultation
Moments of utter defeat
Moments of survival
Moments of feeling loved
Moments of feeling lost
Moments of giving

my softened heart

art work is very hard

If any perfection is indicated in the work it is recognized by the artist as a miracle

take no credit
