I began this piece in 2009 as a baby quilt for my grand son Jack and I was interested in learning more about reverse applique. I put it aside and made Jack a different baby quilt with red dots ...and also went on to design and make Precious Water along with the community in the Manitoulin Circle Project, the lower half of which is reverse applique dots. Coming back to this simple idea of one piece of linen laid over three different pieces of commercial batik fabric that have been seamed together, and drawing dots across the whole surface is kind of fun. I still like the idea and think it is worth finishing. 6 years later!
I love the circles of circles!
