blocking my work

there is silence
and beautiful weather

when an embroidered cloth is on such a large scale, it ceases to be domestic

prayer flag

My bone is healing - it's healed actually -
new bone has formed, even over the screws.
We saw the x-ray.
The entire day yesterday was spent in the car going to and from doctor.
We left at 9 am, home 10 pm.
Ned went straight to bed - me too, but I got up to clean the studio.

I arranged the red edged hankies into a cross
for a prayer flag

wabi sabi

My art is inspired by the wabi-sabi idea from Japan.
A philosophy and aesthetic that honours the imperfect, the transitory, the humble and the handmade.
It honours the changes of nature, seasons, objects and ourselves.
It evokes a sense of acceptance of the transitory nature of life.
