solace

Now more than ever it is imperative to find the courage to make things, to offer the world - and ourselves - beauty, transcendence, and intellectual freedom.

The act of art making is a radical act of hope.

close your eyes

Close your eyes
Take a few deep breaths
Think of a colour you really love, a colour you find soothing and
breathe that colour in and out
over and over.

a feeling of timelessness

I aim for simplicity, but it's complicated

The work looks simple, but it holds a lot of thought and a lot of work.

cloth is like the body

my work used to be about protection.  Protection Blankets I called them.

now it is more about being wrecked and carrying the wrecked self around all the time.
emotionally and physically wrecked....but mended.

cloth is like the body.
it wears out, it gets softer with age
it holds wisdom and safeness
mended and wrecked, mended and wrecked
