we need mystery

mystery fills us with awe and wonder
these are the foundations of humility
and humility is the foundation of all learning
so we do not seek to unravel this
we honour it by letting it be that way forever

  1. these are powerful images of powerful cloths and a perfectly aligned powerful quote. I love these ironing board cloths, and I love you. thank you for not remaking these utilitarian ironing board covers into something they are not. you are coaxing out their shy, hushed beauty.

    1. Dearest Jeanne. Thank you for your continued support of this blog and of my work. Sometimes - well actually all the time - I don't really know what I am doing. Making this kind of work teaches me so much about life and about my self. I feel really blessed that I have been given the opportunity by my life situation to seek and find this self.

These ironing pads were my mother in law's. When she passed in 2006, Ned saved them for me. He thought I would use them, and it took me over ten years to have the maturity and vision to give them a voice. Give her a voice.

      love you xo

    1. Thank you for commenting Stephanie Jo. Cloth is like the body. It gets old, it survives. It holds memories and dreams. all at the same time. Cloth is what has a powerful influence on you - it is the material of our lives.
